Tim Whisler is the president and founder of The Whisler Agency in Morton, Illinois. As an independent advisor, Tim is committed to putting the unique needs of each client first. He is passionate about his clients and understands that without them, the agency does not exist.
In the year 2000, Tim knew he wanted to help others. After he married his wife Ronda, their first son was born. Only a few months later his mother unexpectedly passed away. If life was truly that fragile, Tim asked, “Then what am I doing with my time here?” These life events made him reflect not only on his new family’s life if something were to happen to him, but also, what about his father’s finances after his mother’s death? He wanted to ensure his father was taken care of and that his retirement plan was secure. He also decided that it was important to share his knowledge with others so that they don’t have to experience the same situation. Four years later he opened his practice.
Tim graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ designation, which means he has the experience and knowledge for effectively evaluating your financial situation and designing the optimal retirement plan for your lifestyle. He can also confidently assess a client's long-term plan and make appropriate recommendations.
A dynamic speaker and respected professional, Tim has delivered presentations on myriad financial planning topics including Social Security maximization, retirement income creation, investment management, and Medicare planning. Since 2006, he has focused on providing Medicare beneficiaries with information and education. He has been heard on AM 1470 WMBD and has also been published locally in The Marketeer, as well as nationally on Fox Business.
Tim and Ronda are lifelong Central Illinois residents and reside in Morton with their two sons. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Ronda serves the community as a registered nurse. Their boys are active in their school’s band programs, as well as with the youth group at their church. They relish any opportunity to take on their dad in a spirited game of chess.
